SUMMARY:“I’m here!” and “Where are you, beautiful world?”: two dance workshops with Soad Ibrahim
DESCRIPTION:How can movement help us rediscover our relationship with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us?Dance is not only a form of artistic expression, but also a tool for exploring social issues, questioning relationships, and making space for new perspectives.\nThis vision is the origin of I’m here! and where are you, beautiful world?, two free dance workshops led by Soad Ibrahim, promoted by the Centre for Creative Development Danilo Dolci ETS in collaboration with Teatro Atlante.\nThrough movement, listening, and relationship, the two meetings will offer a space for exploration and dialogue on the link between the individual and collective dimensions, inviting participants to reflect on how they inhabit their bodies, space, and relationships.\nWorkshop 1 — I Am Here!\nFriday, 6 November | 16:00–19:00\nThe workshop I’m here! offers a path of exploration through movement, to reflect on the social and power dynamics that can render certain identities invisible and limit their possibilities for expression. The workshop invites participants to rediscover their relationship with their own body, recognize its presence, and reaffirm the right to occupy space, express oneself, and be recognized.\nThe experience will be led by Danza Duende, a practice that, through movement, listening, and relationship, fosters greater self-awareness and awareness of the bond with others, turning the body into a space of expression and possibility.\nWorkshop 2 — Where are you, beautiful world?\nSaturday, 7 November | 17:00–20:00\nThe title of the workshop Where are you, beautiful world? draws inspiration from Friedrich Schiller’s work The Gods of Greece, in which the poet evokes an ideal world characterized by harmony between human beings and nature. An image that becomes the starting point for questioning our relationship with others and with the environment.\nBuilding on the path begun in the first meeting, the workshop expands the reflection from self-awareness to the collective dimension, exploring how each person’s presence and movements contribute to transforming shared space.\nThrough Danza Duende, participants will be invited to experiment with new ways of relating and being close, reflecting on the interdependence that ties us to the world and on the value of responsibility and mutual care.\nHow to participate\nThe workshops are free, and it is possible to take part in both meetings or choose only one appointment.\nDate:\n\nFriday, 6 November 2026 | 16:00–19:00 – I Am Here!\nSaturday, 7 November 2026 | 17:00–20:00 – Where Are You, Beautiful World?\n\nVenue: Teatro Atlante,Via della Vetriera, 23, Palermo PA\nLed by: Soad Ibrahim, Italian-Egyptian dancer and dance therapist.
