carem-meeting-nicosiaThe fifth and final CAREM project partner meeting took place in Nicosia (Cyprus) from the 17th to the 18th of October 2014. The project has been financed by the European Commission’s funds, within the Lifelong Learning Programme under the Comenius action. The partnership is composed by: University of Nicosia from Cyprus, Universal Learning System from Ireland, ESTA Bildungswerk from Germany, the Danilo Dolci Centre for Creative Development from Italy and Platon Schools from Greece.

The object of this meeting were the end of the project and the final conference which was held on October 18 at the University of Nicosia and which had an international character. In particular, on Saturday the 18th the final conference was attended by many teachers and educators. More than 100 people listened to the final presentations of the project partners who have shown the implementation phases of the project CAREM in their country in two years of activity.

The goal of CAREM is to make it clear to teachers that non-formal education promoted by the project can increase the social inclusion of minorities within the elementary schools throughout Europe, reducing not only marginalization, but further forms for discrimination of any kind. This is possible especially through the use of collaborative art-making. At the conference other collaborative art projects were also presented, projects implemented in Nicosia by other organizations involved in local primary schools.

This project lasts two years and it is coordinated by Dario Ferrante. For further information you can contact
