The project Parco Giochi delle Scienze will start on 5th February with a kick-off meeting held at Istituto Comprensivo Vittorio Emanuele III. The project – co-funded by Fondazione CON IL SUD within the 2013 announcement Educazione Giovani, intervention against early school leaving – foresees a partnership which is guided by Associazione A.L.I. Ambiente Legalità Intercultura and that involves Centro Siciliano di Terapia della Famiglia, the Centre for Creative Development “Danilo Dolci”, l’Istituto Comprensivo Vittorio Emanuele III, l’Istituto Comprensivo Pestalozzi-Cavour, l’Istituto Scolastico Superiore Mario Rutelli, Urania e Technorama.
The 5th February meeting will be an opportunity to show project’s activities, partners and objectives. At the core of the project lays the construction of two interactive spaces dedicated to science, astronomy and technics. In the external area of Istituto Comprensivo Vittorio Emanuele III a science play park with different exhibits will be created, with the idea of developing a place where both teachers and students will have the possibility to learn by playing. Moreover, inside Istituto Comprensivo Pestalozzi-Cavour, a science museum will be built and provided with several specific instruments to study scientific phenomenons with the support of the methodological approach of creative thinking.
During the implementation of these scientific spaces student’s parents will be involved so as to find the needed specific workforce among them. Teachers and students will be offered different training activities aimed both at boosting technical-scientific competences and at using the museum and play park in teaching. Students from Istituto Scolastico Superiore Mario Rutelli will challenge themselves by creating a scientific-touristic itinerary which will put these spaces in connection to the other sites of scientific interest in Palermo.
