\"ARTSThe integration of migrants and their children<\/strong> in their arrival\u2019s community is a crucial element for the social cohesion and the economic growth of European countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Children with migrant background, particularly, have to face complex and multidimensional barriers <\/strong>including socio-economic disadvantage, language, native culture bias and attainment. <\/strong><\/p>\n

How to promote the reciprocal respect<\/strong> at school and, at the same time, improve the educational performance of children with migrant background<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci is committed for years on the topic of education to diversity and integration of different cultures<\/strong>, with a specific focus on most vulnerable target groups such as children<\/strong> \u2013 examples of it are the projects OTHERNESS<\/a> and ROBIN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the wake of this commitment, we are participating in the project ArtsTogether – Integrating migrant children at schools through artistic expression<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The ArtsTogether project aims at developing and testing a curriculum based on artistic activities and collaborative approaches<\/strong> that will be used in order to equip teachers for dealing with diversity, fostering mutual understanding and respect among their students<\/strong> and improve the educational performance of migrant students<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The project had its official start on January 10-11 in Athens<\/strong>, where project\u2019s partners met to plan the work to be done in the next two years.<\/p>\n
