\"GeNeus:Have you ever wondered whether selection tests could be more gender neutral? Do you find that they\u2019re excessively based on mathematic and logical skills, and that they overlook soft and personal skills?<\/p>\n

We did, and the need for GeNeus \u2013 which has the objective of improving women\u2019s access to the job market and professional education opportunities through the development of gender neutral tools and tests for selection processes \u2013 originated from such questions.<\/p>\n

During the first year of the project, which just came to an end, all partners carried out a thorough research on the subject of selection processes and gender issues in their countries. Moreover, they have developed \u2013 with the precious contribution of professionals from the field and under the academic aegis of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (one of the partners of the project) \u2013 some examples of gender neutral tests, whose administering is currently ongoing. The statistical analysis of the tests\u2019 results will allow the establishment of the model\u2019s effectiveness in appeasing gender differences, which usually emerge from classic selection tests, largely based on logic or mathematic skills and hard knowledge.<\/p>\n

On October 2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup>, the project\u2019s partners met in Palermo, Sicily, for the third transnational partners\u2019 meeting, hosted by Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci.<\/p>\n

The meeting represented an opportunity for partners to take stock of the activities thus far implemented and to outline together the next steps to follow in order to develop the project\u2019s intellectual outputs. Thanks to all partners\u2019 contributions, the meeting was characterized by a dense exchange, further enriched by the comparison between the different realities and experiences from the partnership\u2019s countries.<\/p>\n

After this meeting, the work on GeNeus continues with renewed enthusiasm and dedication!<\/p>\n
