{"id":11169,"date":"2018-12-11T12:19:24","date_gmt":"2018-12-11T11:19:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/danilodolci.org\/?p=11169"},"modified":"2022-03-13T11:31:33","modified_gmt":"2022-03-13T10:31:33","slug":"m-easy-maths-empowerment-migrant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/danilodolci.org\/en\/education\/m-easy-maths-empowerment-migrant\/","title":{"rendered":"M-EASY: Maths as an empowerment tool for migrant and refugees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The III meeting of the <strong>M-EASY<\/strong> project was held in Vienna on December 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 7<sup>th<\/sup>. The partners met up in order to assess the work done so far and to discuss about the next steps of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Among the project outcomes we will produce:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Training course \u2018M-Easy\u2019<\/strong>to develop mathematics skills of low skilled adults, including refugees, asylum seekers, migrants;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Toolkit for adult educators:<\/strong><em>Developing competences needed for effective running of \u2018M-Easy\u2019 training course<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Educational workshop for Local Communities<\/strong><em>Success of the integration of low-skilled adults through education<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the meeting, particular attention was given to the <strong>Toolkit for adult educators \u00a0\u201cDeveloping competences needed for effective running of &#8216;M-Easy&#8217; training course\u201d <\/strong>which main aim is to extend and develop educators\u2019 competences needed for effective teaching of maths skills for low-skilled adults.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The general methodology<\/strong>\u00a0to all the intellectual outputs is based on Open Educational Resources in order to promote the open access to developed educational tools. The methodology of the Toolkit for adult educators is a set of on-line methodical materials to ensure effective facilitation of the \u2018M-Easy\u2019 training course for the low-skilled.<\/p>\n<p>The following competences will be developed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Digital competence with especial emphasis to develop the soft skills in using the mobile applications (Apps) and Internet-based open educational resource to apply for training of low-skilled learners.<\/li>\n<li>Social competences particularly to work effectively and constructively with low-skilled adults, including refugees, asylum seekers, migrants.<\/li>\n<li>Competence on being facilitators for developing skills for mathematic competence of the low-skilled;<\/li>\n<li>Competence on assessment and validation of informal and non-formal learning;<\/li>\n<li>Competence on using reversed training methodology and flipped learning method to ensure the participatory approach for the low-skilled;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Partners will meet in Italy in May 2019 for 5 days of Staff Training in order to train 17 adult educators on how to work with low-skilled adults on providing them \u201cM-Easy \u2013 Mathematic is Easy\u201d training course using developed Toolkit for adult educators.<\/p>\n<p>The project partnership holds together 7 organisations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lpf.lt\/\">SOCIAL INNOVATION FUND SIF<\/a><\/u>(Lithuania, coordinator);<\/li>\n<li><u><a href=\"https:\/\/danmar-computers.com.pl\/en\/\">Danmar Computers LLC<\/a><\/u>(Poland);<\/li>\n<li><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardet.org\/\">CARDET<\/a><\/u>\u2013 Centre for Advancement of Research and Development in Educational Technology LTD (Cyprus);<\/li>\n<li><u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.centras.krs.lt\/\">Kauno rajono svietimo centras<\/a><\/u>(Lithuania);<\/li>\n<li><u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vizuali.lt\/\">Vizuali reklama<\/a><\/u>(Lithuania);<\/li>\n<li><u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dieberater.com\/\">Die Berater Unternehmensberatungs Gesellschaft MBH<\/a><\/u>(Austria);<\/li>\n<li>Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci (Italy).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This project lasts two years and it is coordinated by Irene Ippolito.
