Digital education, participation and equal opportunities<\/strong>: Particularly in times of globalisation and increasing digitization of the labour market, everyone should be given the opportunity to acquire the necessary digital skills to keep up the pace with this development in the long term.<\/p>\n

It is often difficult to find opportunities to improve digital, social and professional skills<\/strong>. This is especially in rural areas or in specific cities without a very developed ICT-learning offer, such as Palermo.<\/p>\n

In order to improve this situation, CSC Danilo Dolci has joined forces with six European institutions in the E-DESIGN – European Digital Education for Social Inclusion and Global Neighbourhood<\/a> project.<\/p>\n

The first partner meeting aiming to set out ideas and share the work plan for the upcoming six months, was held in Giessen (Germany), on the 30th<\/sup> and 31st<\/sup> of January 2019.<\/p>\n

It was hosted by the project coordinators <\/strong>ZAUG gGmbH<\/a> and had a welcoming snowy landscape.<\/p>\n

Partners have been introduced to each other and also to the project, and have managed to develop a full but exciting work plan for the upcoming months, until the next transnational meeting in Palermo<\/strong> on July.<\/p>\n

The project\u2019s main goal is the permanent provision of educational offers<\/strong> in the field of Information and Communication technologies. Over the next three years, at least 20 “ICT Training Hotspots”<\/strong> (four of them in Italy<\/strong>) will be set up in schools and in the community.<\/p>\n

These ICT Training Hotspots will; Provide free courses with an ICT focus, facilitate contact between the young and the old and also between people from different national and cultural backgrounds.<\/p>\n

For now, partners in Germany, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Italy will do a research on the local needs of the ICT market from an employer\u2019s perspective, and gain insights in the future of the ICT market in different relevant regions and countries.<\/p>\n

This will inform on the choice of ICT related courses that will be offered eventually at the ICT Hotspots.<\/p>\n

E-DESIGN – European Digital Education for Social Inclusion and Global Neighbourhood<\/a> is cofunded by Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 3 \u2013 Social Inclusion and Common Value.<\/p>\n
