z_index_tablet=&#8221;0&#8243;]\n<p>The kick-off meeting of the project <strong>COMMIT <\/strong>has been held last Wednesday, the 17<sup>th<\/sup> of June, unfortunately still online. Nevertheless, waiting to be able to meet in person soon, the project partners had the occasion to analyse in depth and plan the activities that will be carried out in the next two years in Italy, Austria, the Netherlands and Greece, in order to prevent the radicalisation of young people through the development and lunch of <strong>communication campaigns of alternative and counter-narrative<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The project is coordinated by Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci and will address 3 main topics: <strong>fake news, hate speech, populistic propaganda; right-\/left-wing extremism; Islamic radicalism &amp; terrorism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We will implement capacity building programmes for university students of communication and journalism, media professionals and civil society organisations, to equip them with the right tools to address these delicate topics; and we will organise workshops with youngsters more susceptible to be attracted by extreme ideologies, to provide them with critical skills and media literacy.<\/p>\n<p>Our work is supported by expert organisations across Europe and by the University of Palermo at local level.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/danilodolci.org\/en\/project\/commit\/\">COMMIT \u2013 COMMunication campaign against exTremism and radicalisation<\/a><\/strong> is funded by the <em>Internal Security Fund \u2013 Police<\/em> programme (ISFP-2018-AG-CT-CSEP).<\/p>\n<p>The project holds together the following organisations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinator: CENTRO PER LO SVILUPPO CREATIVO DANILO DOLCI, Italy<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kmop.gr\/\">KENTRO MERIMNAS OIKOGENEIAS KAI PAIDIOU \u2013 KMOP<\/a>, Greece<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unipa.it\/\">UNIVERSITA DEGLI STUDI DI PALERMO<\/a>, Italy<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/danilodolci.org\/project\/commit\/www.dieberater.com\">DIE BERATER UNTERNEHMENSBERATUNGS GESELLSCHAFT MBH<\/a>, Austria<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/textgain.com\/\">TEXTGAIN BVBA,<\/a>\u00a0Belgium<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.labenevolencija.org\/\">Radio la Benevolencija<\/a> \u2013 The Netherlands<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you want to get involved or know more, please contact: <a href=\"mailto:antonella.alessi@danilodolci.org\">antonella.alessi@danilodolci.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COMMIT aims to prevent &#038; dissuade vulnerable young people  from extremism, radicalism &#038; terrorism providing them with skills relevant to co- create counter narratives challenging extremist online propaganda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":13292,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_et_pb_use_builder":"on","_et_pb_old_content":"<p align=\"justify\">Even if from home (at the moment), CSC Danilo Dolci is coordinating a new project funded by the European Commission under the DG Migration and Home Affairs, through the Internal Security Fund \u2013 Civil Society Empowerment Programme.<\/p><p align=\"justify\">The project is called <strong>COMMIT - COMMunIcation campaign against exTremism and radicalization<\/strong> and aims to prevent & dissuade vulnerable young people (aged from 13 to 25) in 4 partner countries (Italy, Austria, Netherlands and Greece) from extremism, radicalism & terrorism providing them with skills relevant to co- create <strong>counter narratives <\/strong>challenging extremist online propaganda and<strong> alternative <\/strong>narratives promoting democratic values, tolerance & cooperation, and to identify & resist extremist online content.<\/p><p align=\"justify\">COMMIT adopts a trans-medial approach combining <strong>online campaigning & face to face activities<\/strong>: 3 communication campaigns will be developed addressing: fake news, hate speech, populistic propaganda; right-\/left-wing extremism; Islamic radicalism & terrorism; and a set of capacity building activities (training courses, workshops, contests, events) will be carried out in order to empower <strong>young people, university students, media professionals, practitioners and stakeholders<\/strong> to meet the new challenges linked to extremist propaganda online & radicalisation in our societies.<\/p><p align=\"justify\">In the next two years, we will commit to co-create and spread alternative an positive narratives: for now we are working from home, starting a research based on a content analysis and a target audience mapping in a view to build an effective communication strategy for the campaigns\u2019 development. From the next academic year, we will start our training activities addressed to university students, followed by workshops with young people in our countries.<\/p><p>We are preparing exciting news!
