\"Minoritary<\/a>The first multiplier event<\/strong> of COMBI project – Communication Competences For Migrants And Disadvantaged Background Learners In Bilingual Work Environments\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>– took place on the 7th<\/sup> and 8th<\/sup>\u00a0 June 2017 in San Sebastian (Spain). Two days of international speakers, stakeholders and experts in minority language gathered attracting many participants at local and international level.<\/p>\n

In the wonderful venue of the Auditorium of the University Library (EHU \u2013 Basque Public University) at Carlos Santamaria Zentroa, participants actively discussed about minority language and health care in Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The multiplier event in San Sebastian was an important occasion to present the first results of the project<\/strong>. In particular, on the 7th<\/sup>\u00a0June Gwennan Higham <\/strong>– COMBI team – introduced Needs assessment and collection of good practices<\/em><\/strong>. Petra Elser<\/strong> and Ana Labaka<\/strong> spoke about IO2 Teacher Training Toolkit<\/em><\/strong>. On the 8th<\/sup> of June recent research and best practices of the field were presented by international speakers and the participants had a chance to be a part of developing on-line modules for teacher training in interactive group conversations.<\/p>\n

Matilde Monetti<\/strong>\u00a0(Language for Work network, Germany) gave an interesting speech on a paper called How to help adult migrants develop work-related language skills?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Also, Xabier Aierdi<\/strong>\u00a0– COMBI advisor – and Gorka Moreno<\/strong>\u00a0– Director of the Immigration Observatory of the Basque Country – discussed about Special needs of migrants in training and accessing the labor market<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and presented interesting research on this topic.<\/p>\n

COMBI is co-funded by Erasmus+ KA2<\/strong> – Strategic Partnerships for adult education\u00a0– with the main aim to develop innovative and inclusive\/systemic practices<\/strong> and methods focused on acquiring communication competences in the languages required in the workplace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
