The planned project activities are related to educating students to show tolerance, to express and understand different viewpoints, to negotiate with the ability to create confidence, and to feel empathy.<\/p>\n<p>Project participants will be supported in becoming responsible citizens, valuing diversity and respecting Otherness, in being prepared to overcome prejudices and to compromise, in building a world based on collaboration, assertiveness and integrity, in being interested in socio-economic developments and inter-cultural communication.<\/p>\n<p>The project will enhance digital integration in learning and training through developing a digital tool complementing the <em>Teachers&#8217; Manual<\/em> comprising new media products, documentaries, video lessons and other relevant digital e-content.<\/p>\n<h2>Activities<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Researching on the way <em>otherness<\/em> is reflected in school books and teaching materials and on students&#8217; attitude to otherness.<\/li>\n<li>Designing a training programme for raising students\u2019 sensitivity to Otherness.<\/li>\n<li>Transnational training activities for teachers.<\/li>\n<li>Piloting the Training programme during school year 2016-2017.<\/li>\n<li>Final implementation of the Training programme during school year 2017-2018.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Results<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Opinion poll surveying students&#8217; and teachers&#8217; attitudes to Otherness;<\/li>\n<li>Research Report on how Otherness concepts are imbedded in school education;<\/li>\n<li>Teachers&#8217; Manual for the Training programme for raising students\u2019 sensitivity to Otherness, cultural differences, skills for inter-cultural dialogue and active involvement;<\/li>\n<li>Digital tool for raising students\u2019 sensitivity to Otherness<\/li>\n<li>Short-term joint staff training events (in Italy and Greece);<\/li>\n<li>Piloting and training in schools making use of the designed training programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Partners<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinator: Fondacia Prosveta-Sofia \u2013 Bulgaria<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/aenao.org\/wordpress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Center of non formal education \u2013 Greece<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipsantarem.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instituto Politecnico De Santarem \u2013 Portugal<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/danilodolci.org\/\">Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo \u201cDanilo Dolci\u201d<\/a> \u2013 Italia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Description of the project The OTHERNESS project addresses the transversal skills correlating to social and civic competences, as well as cultural awareness and expression.
