Discovering the digital world: reimagining the territory through new technologies
Curious about how innovative technologies can spark local development? Come explore the projects created by the students of the Our Digital Village course! After diving into cutting-edge tools like coding, robotics, and 3D printing, the students from the schools of Salemi and Gibellina will showcase how digital technologies can promote community engagement and support the growth of their local area.
The event will take place
on Thursday, May 29th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
at Istituto Comprensivo Statale G. Garibaldi – G. Paolo II, complex “Papa Giovanni XXIII”, Viale Ibn Hamdis, 91024, Gibellina
The event is reserved for parents, family members, friends, teachers, and students from the schools of Salemi and Gibellina
Agenda
- 2:00 – 2:15 PM: Welcome and presentation of Our Digital Village by Giulia D’Annibale, Project Manager at the Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci – ETS and project coordinator
- 2:15 – 2:45 PM: Overview of the course and digital tools used, presented by Michele Pizzuto, trainer at FabLab Palermo
- 2:45 – 3:20 PM: Student project presentations
- 3:20 – 4:00 PM: Closing buffet and wrap-up
The projects on display are the result of the ICT course promoted in local schools by OUR DIGITAL VILLAGE – CO-DESIGNED DIGITAL EDUCATION IN RURAL AREAS, a project funded by the Erasmus+ programme (Key Action 2: Forward-Looking Projects). The initiative aims to encourage a process of community self-assessment in rural areas through the method of Reciprocal Maieutics, in order to identify local needs and co-create educational materials that strengthen both digital and transversal skills.
