Training information
This free 8-day training course will be held at Borgo Danilo Dolci in Trappeto — a place with a long history of community engagement and nonviolent education — and will get together 37 youth workers from 9 different countries to critically explore the environmental and social challenges linked to tourism, like environmental degradation, gentrification, and cultural loss, while also talking about how tourism can become a tool for sustainable local development.
The program combines non-formal education methods, experiential learning, and intercultural exchange, and is designed to provide participants with skills and knowledge to:
- promote sustainable tourism and ecological awareness in own communities;
- understand the environmental and social impacts of tourism;
- use participatory methods to encourage critical thinking, dialogue, and active involvement;
- use digital tools and social media to promote sustainable tourism;
- design action plans and local campaigns involving young people in environmental and tourism initiatives.
