Be Inclusive! Tools and results for workplace inclusion

Aug 8, 2025News

How can the results of the Be Inclusive! project be used to improve the participation of people with disabilities in working life?

Over the last two years, the Be Inclusive! project has worked to:

  • Create motivation and awareness for the recruitment and training of people with disabilities.
  • Provide basic information on the subject.
  • Include people with disabilities in work processes in a more sustainable way.
  • Improve the success of job placement for people with disabilities.
  • Develop and use innovative digital teaching materials, and exchange experiences and examples of practice between different areas and countries.

Be Inclusive! resources

The project partners’ first objective was to conduct national research that included the partners’ experiences, the national situation and best practices for the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace. This research led to the development of the brochure “People with disabilities in the labour market: integration, inclusion and sustainable employment in SMEs” with the aim of encouraging SMEs to hire people with disabilities, providing essential information and supporting sustainable inclusion in the labour market..

This was followed by the development of 8 modular learning videos (microlearning) for SMEs to support the process of integrating people with disabilities, which will provide concrete suggestions and practical advice.

In addition, supplementary materials have been created to accompany the educational videos, offering further learning opportunities to initiate an in-depth self-learning process and for use in practice. They are also designed for implementation in training courses in the field of inclusion and the labour market.

Events and promotion

To promote the results developed, an online event was organised on 16 July with the following objectives:

  • Promoting the recruitment of people with disabilities
  • Simplifying integration into the company
  • Deepening knowledge
  • Listening to voices and direct experiences

In this last section, we presented an exclusive video in collaboration with Disability Pride Palermo, which includes an interview with Catia Gambino, president of the association.
