Inside the metaverse against misinformation: challenge fake news with CheckMate!
How can we discern facts from fake news? And how can we stand up against manipulated content that aims to deform reality?
In the modern era in which we live, the constant flow of digital information can be as helpful as it is dangerous. Misinformation is now an integral part of our daily lives, spreading virally through social media, online news and chat rooms.
With CheckMate we want to develop new educational and media literacy methods addressed to adults most at risk from misinformation and those who play a part in information and educational programs.
Would you like to experience a training meeting on this topic but fully inside the metaverse?

We will explore together the complex misinformation world and find out how to defend ourselves against fake news. The event will be entirely hosted in the metaverse, a virtual environment that goes beyond classic online conferences. You will discover an interactive 3D space, customize your avatar, and actively join the debates by virtually walking through the halls, interacting with speakers, and experiencing immersive learning.
To join in, you don’t need a spaceship or a degree in computer science. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection …and you’re done!
The metaverse offers a new frontier for communication and networking, creating a new way to get involved that goes far beyond classic video platforms.
CheckMate – Empowering Europeans towards a Media-Savvy Citizenry is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ program (Key Action 2 – Cooperation Partnerships in Adult Education) and aims to develop new educational methods and media literacy initiatives targeted at adults, particularly those most exposed to the risks of disinformation and those involved in informational and educational processes.
