Emotional wellbeing can (also) be learnt at school: tools and practices for teachers
A workshop designed for those who work with teenagers, offering the chance to discover and try out tools and activities that help promote emotional wellbeing in school and educational settings.
Wednesday 21 October 2026 | 4.45 pm – 6.15 pm
Officine Bellotti
Via Antonio Gagini 31, Palermo
How can we recognise the emotional wellbeing needs of young people?
And what tools can we use to encourage a more mindful approach to managing emotions and everyday challenges?
Adolescence is a time of major changes, when emotions, relationships and expectations can become difficult to manage. Anxiety, school-related stress, difficulties in relationships with peers and heavy use of social media are some of the challenges that can affect the emotional wellbeing of young people.
School is one of the main settings for personal growth and social interaction and can play a vital role in recognising these needs and creating opportunities to develop emotional awareness, interpersonal skills and strategies for coping with everyday difficulties. However, those who teach or work with teenagers do not always have practical tools to incorporate into their activities.
For this reason, during the workshop you will have the opportunity to learn about and put into practice activities based on emotional intelligence and resilience strategies, designed to be adapted to different school and educational contexts.
During the session, you will be able to:
- experience first-hand practical activities to use in the classroom;
- acquire tools to support the emotional wellbeing of teenagers aged between 14 and 18;
- gain a deeper understanding of the role of emotional intelligence and resilience in coping with everyday challenges;
- engage in dialogue with other professionals, sharing experiences, needs and strategies;
- receive a certificate of attendance.
There will also be a session dedicated to questions and shared reflection, to help participants understand how to adapt what they have learnt to the needs of their own educational context.
What we will do together
- We will learn about Empower YOUth, its objectives and the approach it has developed.
- We will review the activities carried out and the main results achieved.
- We will move from theory to practice through a workshop focusing on some of the activities developed, which can be adapted and implemented directly in the classroom.
Who is it for?
The workshop is aimed at teaching staff at all levels, particularly in upper secondary schools, educational professionals, youth workers, school representatives for wellbeing and inclusion, school psychologists and, more generally, anyone who works with groups of teenagers.
Participation is free of charge. Click here to book your place.
