Introduction to the MILES Project
Lisa Avarello, Project Manager at the Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci – ETS, will introduce the project and the webinar series.
The expert, Debora Barletta, will address the following topics:
- Interactive presentation of data on disinformation and misinformation: why are they threats?
- Learning how to take action
- Exploration of selected case studies + application of the SIFT method

The expert
Debora Barletta is an international youth worker, trainer, and facilitator passionate about empowerment and non-formal learning. She is an expert in human rights education, combating hate speech, youth participation, and Internet governance, with a focus on inclusion and digital literacy.
She designs and delivers innovative educational programs—both online and offline—adapting them to different contexts, including the third sector, schools, and universities.
She is Co-Coordinator of the National Network for Countering Hate Speech and Hate Phenomena and National Coordinator of the No Hate Speech Movement Italy. She is also an active member and campaign manager of the UNITED Network. Debora is part of the board of YouthIGF Italy and the Programme Committee of the Internet Governance Forum Italy, contributing to the promotion of inclusive and participatory Internet governance.
With a strong international background stemming from her experience with the Council of Europe and work on various European projects, Debora Barletta also supports local organizations to foster the inclusion of marginalized youth. Active in advocacy and campaigning, she takes part in national and international debates and panels to promote rights, diversity, and digital citizenship.
