How to promote scholastic inclusion through biografic storytelling? Is it possible to involve local communities in the promotion of social inclusion of students of secondary schools?
The II meeting of the ALICE project was held in Barcelona on November 15th and 16th. The partners met up in order to assess the work done so far and to discuss about the next steps of the project.
ALICE project intends to experiment educative and social pedagogic practices related to the application of pro-social measures aiming at involving local communities in the promotion of social inclusion of students of secondary schools, which have been selected among different EU Countries.
During the meeting, particular attention was given to the results of the Pre-testing with have been done with a selected target group and to the state of the art of the testing in all the involved countries.
In particular, the partners discussed about the first draft of the Prosocial Pedagogical Model (Manual).
The prosocial pedagogical model is a system of educative measures addressed to promote prosocial development based on two socio-cognitive personal framework that respond to a variety of inputs, between them:
- domain-specific developmental system that is sensitive to cues of support and structure;
- the domain-general capacity for social learning that attends to the examples set by others (i.e., modeling) and plays a notable role in the development of prosociality.
The Manual will be realized considering that the two systems do not exist in isolation, but likely operate in concert and represent our capacity for social learning (Nielsen, 2012; Richerson and Boyd, 2004), and a psychobiological system dedicated to the development off prosociality.
With the Pro- Save Social Approach, we expect active participation among secondary school students and their parents: after the implementation phase, they will acquire new emotional skills and be more open to developing positive interpersonal relationships.
ALICE lasts 2 years and funded by Erasmus+ Programme, KA3 – Support for Policy Reform.
