Building strong and inclusive communities by creating local support networks designed to assist Ukrainian migrant women across Europe in their journey toward social and professional integration.
Description of the project
Due to the significant increase in migration from Ukraine to Europe as a result of the war, there is an urgent need to implement targeted initiatives to support this population—particularly the many women who have left their homes to start anew in unfamiliar environments. Arriving in a new country often requires access to training and language courses to ease the process of integration into the host community. Acquiring specific skills helps reduce the challenges associated with resettlement. Support networks made up of professionals working in reception and labor market inclusion can become essential points of reference for these women, offering guidance and stability during their transition.
SHE-UNET focuses on strengthening their skills to facilitate access to the labor market. To achieve this, training courses will be offered not only to Ukrainian women, but also to professionals working in the field of migration, employers, HR managers, and trainers.
Objectives
- Promote the social and professional inclusion of Ukrainian refugee women in Europe by creating local support networks made up of professionals, trainers, and employers.
- Provide targeted training courses to enhance the skills of those working in the fields of reception and labor market inclusion, equipping them to better support migrants and refugees.
- Offer awareness and orientation programs for Ukrainian refugee women to help them understand and navigate the complexities of entering the labor market.
Activities
- Conduct research in Italy, the Netherlands, and Sweden to identify the training needs and challenges faced by professionals working in the reception and labor integration of migrants.
- Develop a training program based on the research findings, aimed at strengthening the managerial, inclusive, and organizational skills of professionals, trainers, and employers involved in supporting refugee women with language acquisition and professional development.
- Launch a transnational training session in Sweden for 15 professionals from the three participating countries, all working in the field of migrant support, to introduce the newly developed methodology.
- Organize a second international meeting in Italy for the same 15 professionals to provide tools and insights into the Empowerment Skills Framework – a comprehensive methodology focused on employment, autonomy, and inclusion.
- Involve 60 Ukrainian refugee women in local training sessions designed to support the development of labor market skills through a structured program of personal growth, mentoring, and career guidance.
- Host webinars and in-person events to share the methodologies used and the outcomes achieved with local stakeholders and migration professionals.
