GREEEN: environment, entrepreneurship and digital education

Apr 29, 2025News

What objectives have been achieved in 3 years of the GREEEN project?

The project GREEEN aimed to provide teachers and students with skills, competences and knowledge to successfully address local and regional environmental, social and educational issues and challenges.

GREEEN achieved this through:

  • socially inclusive activities that raised environmental awareness and the level of information;
  • the direct involvement of all participants, stimulating entrepreneurial action in solving local and national challenges;
  • collaboration between students, educators, and representatives of educational institutions for the development of transnational educational resources.

A 5-day training took place in July 2022,  which actively involved involving 59 people, including teachers and students from schools in Italy, Cyprus, Romania and North Macedonia. This international meeting and exchange was a valuable opportunity to share experiences, skills and good practices related to the project topics.  After the training, 7 results were developed thanks to the partners and various schools involved:

  • Online journal: a series of 100+ online contents on the topics of environmental issues and entrepreneurship created by teachers and school children;
  • 8 modules of 10 online lessons in Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Technology and Art;
  • eco-competition with 20 site Eco-interventions;
  • online comic/graphic book series “The Green Monster Stories”;
  • 8 entrepreneurial projects undertaken by national teams consisting of teachers and pupils;
  • a series of extracurricular activities in Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Technology and Art created by teachers and pupils;
  • eco-entrepreneurial curriculum.

Two closing events were organised with the aim of making the project’s main results of the project in an engaging way . The first event was held on 8 April in Partinico, at Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Statale Danilo Dolci, involving teachers in presence and online. The second event was a webinar held on 28 April that offered participants the opportunity to acquire practical skills in writing articles for blogs and to explore the potential of digital journalism, experimenting it directly within their own classroom.
