In the beginning of February, on the 6th and 7th 2020, the final conference and meeting of the AMW project took place in Bifröst, Iceland. It was hosted by the coordinators of the project, Bifröst University. During the final meeting, the partners looked back at a fruitful collaboration and went through the final steps of the project. The project has lasted for 30 months and has been a success both for partners and participants who benefitted directly from the project and its results.
On the 2 and 3rd of September 2019, the AMW partnership came together for their fourth international meeting. This time, the meeting was held in Athens, organized by Hellenic American College (HAEC).
On the 29th of May 2019, the last session of the second cycle of the AMW training course finished. Seven women have followed together a two months learning path in which their motivation has grown and they have understand more about themselves.
AMW partners implemented the first cycle of the AMW training course and mentoring circles and therefor the meeting in Palermo was good moment to exchange compliments as well as to discuss the lessons learned and points for improvement.
The first piloting of Advancing Migrant Women has just ended, allowing 8 migrant women to enter the world of entrepreneurship and to develop different skills and knowledge related to the job market.
On the 17th and 18th of September, the partners of the Advancing Migrant Women, met each other in Sheffield for the second transnational meeting as well as the training for trainers.
What are the biggest obstacles that migrant women face regarding looking for and finding work? These were the central themes of the first public event of the Advancing Migrant Women project, which was organized the 4th of July 2008 at the “Cantieri culturali della Zisa”.
