The needs assessment of the rural communities involved in OUR DIGITAL VILLAGE has led to the development of training sessions in partner countries, aimed at educators and teachers to enhance digital skills and their application in the classroom.
In recent months, in Italy, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Austria, and Poland, over 100 teachers participated in training sessions that focused on innovative technologies such as Web Development, Robotics, 3D Printing, Microcontrollers, and Coding. Acquiring new skills in using these tools will allow teachers to renew their lessons, making them more interactive and engaging. Moreover, in the coming weeks, the same teachers, guided by expert trainers, will be present to assist in training courses for students and adults on the mentioned technologies. These courses aim to highlight their pedagogical value and encourage the community to explore resources that can be applied in both professional and non-professional contexts.
On November 5th and 6th, the project partners met in Porto to collaboratively plan the upcoming training sessions and outline the consulting activities to be carried out at the Info Desks established in the target rural communities. At these locations, residents will have the opportunity to engage with specialized staff to ask questions on any topic related to information technology. Questions can also be submitted online in any of the project languages. This approach allows for the simultaneous discussion of multiple topics, addressing the needs and interests of the entire community. Starting now, experts can be contacted through the online Info Desk available at the following link: https://ourdigitalvillage.erasmus.site/oid/.
In early December, the municipality of Gibellina is set to host an informational session on the use of online learning platforms for educational purposes in schools. Teachers and educators will once again have the opportunity to challenge themselves and explore additional tools to share with their students.
There are many exciting updates coming in the next few months, so don’t forget to keep following our news!
